Summer Daze Facial Serum

Ingredients: Argan Oil with Honeysuckle Absolute and Essential Oils of  Lavender and Patchouli

Recipe: Add the following drops to a 30ml dropper bottle:

• 8 drops of Honeysuckle Absolute
• 6 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
• 3 drops of Patchouli Essential Oil

Then top it up with 30ml of Argan Oil.

Story behind the serum... I have always loved honeysuckle. As a child, I remember playing at a friend's house where they had an archway with honeysuckle growing over it. Whenever I would catch a whiff of honeysuckle it would take me back to that time, as a child, playing in my friend's garden.

This powerful attachment was something that drew me to try and find a serum that incorporated honeysuckle. Like cooking, you can randomly experiment, however, reading the recipes of cooks who have found great ways to use ingredients is often a more helpful place to start! I was reading a lot of recipes and found someone who said she was diffusing honeysuckle, lavender and patchouli and loving it. I tried smelling these three together and certainly agreed the combination was great. I didn't want to diffuse them, so I needed to find an oil that would support this blend well. I trialled the carrier oils I had to hand and found that Argan oil seemed the best suited. Combined with this I was trying to support someone who was suffering from acne and wanted a non-comedogenic oil as the base as are those that are less likely to clog pores. The fragrance of argan oil, which has the lowest possible rating on the comedogenic scale seemed to resonate well with this blend, so it became the base.

I recommend this serum for anyone who loves the smell of honeysuckle, has skin of any age that needs a bit of TLC, or simply wants to try a new serum as they fancy a change.
