Jasmine is a simply beautiful scent. This particular example is called an "absolute" as it is made using a different process from essential oils, which are generally made using steam distillation and sometimes cold pressing. Absolute oils are typically heavier oils than essential oils meaning they are more viscous and have a stronger scent. This Jasmine absolute is no exception! The exquisite scent has earned it the reputation as the "King of Flowers" and it is reputed to endow those who wear it with a lightness of spirit and happy disposition. In spiritual traditions, Jasmine is used for blessings, protection and good luck. 

Research into essential oils and absolutes typically looks at their impact on easily measured phenomena such as wound healing and finding evidence to support its traditional qualities such as, in the case of Jasmine, treating headaches and infections.
