I knew tallow and rosehip oil could both be great for skin healing and rebuilding, so when I saw a recipe for an eye balm that contained both, I was keen to try it. The result is this "Beefy Balm" which can be used as an eye cream (apply with care using your ring finger) or to rebuild any skin anywhere on your face of body that needs extra care.

I'd recommend the Immortelle blend version for eye care as this contains a blend that is known to help rejuvenate skin. The blend contains organic essential oils of:

  • Frankincense
  • Lavender
  • Sandalwood
  • Myrrh
  • Helichrysum
  • Rose Otto

The lavender version contains lavender, but quite a lot of it as some people don't like the smell of tallow, so I've added enough lavender here to mute the beefy aroma!

This 15ml balm is easy to carry in your pocket if you have areas of dry or damaged skin that need a bit of tlc, or keep it in your bathroom to apply to the eye area after cleansing. Either way, I am sure you'll love it.

I don't stock or sell tallow itself, however, there are many vendors who do, however, I wanted to provide the recipe as, if you'd like to make it yourself, you'll know how.

Ingredients

  • 30g Beef Tallow
  • 1 teaspoon Rosehip Oil
  • 2 drops of this blend

Directions

  • Melt the tallow
  • Once liquid, remove from the heat and add the rosehip oil
  • When at 60oC or lower, add the blend
  • Pour into a small jar
  • Leave to cool

Then it's ready to use. It should last several months if kept cool.
